U2L Datsun 1600

Post Number:#1  Postby Notso Swift » Wed Jun 27, 2018 9:25 pm

Nothing to do with me, but this is a fast car for the money, times were on 48's, and at the time were about 0.4sec from the PI track record. It held the Sandown record and still holds Calder long and short. (I think it also held Winton, bit can't be sure, that could have been the Randle 1600, which had PI) Anyway, it is probably underrated because it isn't running, but it has the full Morriss treatment  and would run at the pointy end of any U2L feild in the country

Yes
Rob owned it, had the Calder and Winton lap records (which he did take I found out after I posted), Phil built it, John also drove it when Phil was running the FJ24

Rob Thompson’s car was Randels old car which was owned by john Morris and lap record holder
Pretty sure the Morris fj24 is skinners car now
rob mills car was Phil Morris car
The Morris boys obviously loved the dato 1600s lol
