Re: IPRA Poll

Its like claiming updates to Homoligation is not eligible. Manufacturers update models and Homoligation Extensions. A9X was an extension on the SLR500 as was the Fox Mustang bodywork updates over its production years. 5/1ET. https://historicdb.fia.com/car/ford-mustang-50-gt-85 https://historicdb.fia...

Re: IPRA Poll

How can IP allow people in control of the class to use their positions to serve their own self interests? Inc impacting new logbooks etc?
Hard to avoid self interests with volunteers I know but we must try.

Re: IPRA Poll

Big swing in thinking over that last decade. 10 years ago the world was going to stop turning if we went to boost limits and no "R", Now we are talking aftermarket race blocks. I guess open engines up to 6.0l for everyone next.

Re: IPRA Poll

It's irrelevant Bruce, there are particular regs that relate to rotary engines that limit their external components, with the result that housings and end/intermediate plates are treated equally; 1.9 ROTARY ENGINE Engines with rotary (rather than reciprocating) motion of the compressing medium (Wan...

Re: IPRA Poll

I apologise in advance if you have heard this before, but it has been going on since 2008 when I wrote the first opinion on it as an EO. 1. The current 3J regulations do not permit aftermarket blocks. 2. The 6010Boss302 is not an “aftermarket” block, it’s cast by Ford, it’s machined by Ford, it is ...

Re: IPRA Poll

Motorsport blocks can cut huge expense from a build, That said they are only available to very limited makes so have no place in IP. I think this is a knee jerk reaction by those that can't except that the current Boss 302 block is an eligible Ford replacement block. Don't get me wrong, I'm building...

Re: Hislop - Falcon - Clipsal

I would love to see ray with the later Coyote engines. The high end ones are quite a lot more powerful and longer lasting than the 50 year old Boss 302 and a good weight drop off the front end. If only someone could come up with a reason for him to upgrade.

All over Facebook etc. Simple fact is we can't find anyone without self interest, All volunteers come from IP racers or members.

Re: 2018 Aldinga Towing IPRA Nationals @ The Bend

Some more racing notes, based on what I saw and what I remember (ie; could be wrong) plus a little help from Natsoft; O2L Much more complicated in O2L with 70 cars split up into 4 groups, A, B, C and D. Qualifying combined Adam Poole in the white Monaro was fastest with a 2.04.8804 which was just o...

Re: Production Cars and IP in the CAMS Scheme

What some are trying to say is the 050 suits 050s very well, What they don't like is they also suit heavy LM cars taking the tyre advantage away.

Re: Production Cars and IP in the CAMS Scheme

I didn't say there was a "level playing field" either, I was merely quoting. What happens to the level playing field when your car can't use the "gun" tyre because it's not available in your size Heaps of cars can't use the "gun" tyre as it is, because the AO50 suits some cars more than others. I c...
