New Log Book

Post by infotechplus » Mon Oct 12, 2020 5:23 pm

So, who has applied for a new log book in the last six months, and what was the turnaround time?

So it looks like no-one in IPRA has applied for a new log book in the last six months!

Motorsport Australia has told me repeatedly that they are deluged with log book applications and combined with COVID-19 this is why four months after I put my application in I still haven't received anything (except excuses). I have contacted them at least three times and each time I was told it would be processed forthwith.

Combine this with the six months I waited from the time I put in my roll cage certification (late October) and it being issued in March, this means I am about two weeks shy of having had to wait a YEAR to get the required paperwork to compete - a YEAR!! Is it any wonder competitors get pissed off with the way motorsport is administered in this country!

... and don't start me on the cost of actually competing! I should have just stuck to trackdays!

I'd love to go to a trackday.
In fact I'd love to be able to go more than 5km from my home.

I don't know the exact timing, but one of our new competitors who raced with IP at the recent WP round had his car inspected and log book issued within 2 weeks!!

Well, I've emailed Motorsport Australia again. I suppose that's me to the back of the queue again!

Motorsport Australia told me they would let me know when the logbook is sent and give me a tracking number.

They did neither, and now I'm told the logbook was sent early August. It wasn't received here.

They have issued another one, sent it Express Post and given me a tracking number.

OK, let's go racing. Oh, wait, the season's over!

Aren't you NSW? We got a special night race at SMSP coming up for the final round! Race is Saturday Nov 14 and entries don't close until the 30th October... plenty of time to race.
