A number of IPRANSW Committee Members will be at SMSP for Round 3 if anyone needs a run down on the General Meeting discussion and voting. Allocate a bit of time, it's not going to be a simple 5 minute discussion. 8)

Also there will be a dedicated IP DSO on hand, so best to pay attention at the Drivers Briefing

Cheers

Hi Gary,
Has it been decided who is the DSO for this meeting?

Cheers Greg.

A question for your Delegate to ask the National Administrator. It usually takes a couple of weeks to compile and distribute the rough draft to the Delegates. Then a couple of weeks for the Delegates to read and make any suggested changes. Add say another week to compile the changes if any and release a final version, which is the one the Delegates usually use to discuss with the members. I do know the National Administrator has been very busy getting a couple of cars prepared for the 6 Hour at Bathurst this weekend. As a result it may be a little longer this time.

The IPRANSW Delegates reported back from their notes at last Wednesday's General Meeting, but they are not offical of course. I suspect that your local delegate should be able to do the same, so another question for them perhaps?

I was told and no one has tried to kill me :?
There were 26 others at the subsequent General Meeting where our Delegate and observer ran through what happened at the Meeting in quite some detail. Members were advised by email that we would be discussing and voting on the items from the Delegates Meeting and requested to attend and contribute. We discussed and then voted on the items that we were asked to vote on and the results have been sent to the National Administrator. The Minutes of the General Meeting have been issued and appear in the IPRANSW magazine as usual.

The above, in general, is what is supposed to happen in every State such that the National Administrator can provide the results to CAMS, by August is my understanding. That timing seems about right if the changes are to be included in the 2018 Q1 CAMS Manual as it gives CAMS time to review the results, provide feedback and discuss recommendations with IPRAA.

If your local State hasn't then you won't get a say, so I'd suggest talking to your local Delegate pretty soon about following the process.

Cheers
Gary

My understanding is that your Delegate is currently overseas for a couple of weeks, so you may have to wait for his return.

My understanding is that the proposal to accept sequential gearboxes for all cars was not accepted with the request that it be split into 2 separate proposals. One for allowing original DSG/DCT gearboxes to be retained in the cars that they came with from the car's manufacturer. The other is for allowing sequential gearboxes in all IP cars. The former has been presented to the IPRANSW members and voted on favourably. The latter, to my knowledge, hasn't seen the light of day.

Cheers
Gary
